Everyone can breath a sigh of relief! Opening Night was a huge success. A sell out show which has marked the beginning of a wonderful society.
It is hard to describe in words the atmosphere of excitement in the Sugar Club on Wednesday. So much work was put into the show and the tickets had sold out days before! By 8 o clock the place was full of proud mammies, spouses and friends waiting to see the performance.
It is also near to impossible to describe the level of performance on the night. With surprisingly on major hitches the show was a stormer and the audience loved it. The enrgy backstage was incredible as the chorus listened to soloist after soloist do a top notch job. The chorus numbers were also spectacular and listening to reviews from the audience, everyone was very impressed.
So for those of you who failed to make it to the show here is one of the amazing performances.
And for those of you who missed the show you also missed the most amazing afterparty in Dandelion on Stephen's Green, who put of with our loudness extremely well, and fed us to boot!
Opening Night has certainly put DCMS on the map. It is important to note however that this is not an end, it is the first firm footsteps of Dublin City Musical Society, which most definitely is not going anywhere for a long time.
